7/26 (Sun) Workshop: Making Forest Humidity Control Bags with Minakami Bamboo Charcoal at Starbucks Isesaki Shimodoji Store

Thank you to everyone who participated in our "Coffee Scent Sachet Workshop" held in June.

Next, as the fourth installment of our collaboration project with Starbucks Isesaki Shimomichiji, we will be hosting the "Forest Humidity Control Sachet Workshop using Minakami Bamboo Charcoal."

The Forest Story Behind Your Coffee

In fact, the forests of Minakami Town are one of the primary water sources for the Tokyo metropolitan area.

That water is an essential resource that supports not only our daily lives but also Starbucks coffee.

Proper forest management is indispensable for the forests to function in a healthy way.

Starbucks is working in partnership with Minakami Town to engage in forest conservation activities. The bamboo charcoal we will use this time was created from bamboo harvested during this forest maintenance.Behind the cup of coffee you enjoy casually, there exists a forest that nurtures the water.

This workshop is designed to help you feel that forest cycle.

Humidity Control Sachets Made with Isesaki Meisen

In this workshop, we will make original humidity control sachets using Isesaki Meisen fabric handled by Ay.

We will fill them with bamboo charcoal from Minakami.
Bamboo charcoal is said to have deodorizing and humidity-regulating effects, so you can use it in various places, such as:

・Closets
・Shoe cabinets
・Inside bags
・In the car
・Around your desk

Choose your favorite pattern and create a one-of-a-kind humidity control sachet.

A Workshop Connecting Regions

"Isesaki Meisen," the textile culture of Isesaki. "Bamboo charcoal," a natural resource from Minakami.

And Starbucks, which connects people and regions.
This workshop is a special project where the charm of each comes together.

We hope this will be an opportunity to learn about local culture and nature while enjoying craftsmanship.
