Silk scarf "Feather"

Sale price¥35,300

Wearing the spirit of a century ago: 10 Japanese-made silk scarves, reviving "Isesaki Meisen" through modern technology.

We have archived the patterns of "Isesaki Meisen," a silk textile from Gunma Prefecture born about 100 years ago, and reimagined them as scarves designed to fit naturally into your everyday life.

With textiles like Isesaki Meisen, kimono bolts are only about 36cm wide. Creating clothing within this limited width has always required constant navigation of constraints, such as complex pattern design and fabric shortages.

However, by leveraging our archived pattern data, we have transcended these physical limitations, allowing these designs to be reborn as large-format scarves.

A scarf that looks stunning, no matter how you tie it.

Scarves change their appearance from when they are spread out to when they are worn. That is why we redesigned the placement of the patterns so that the composition looks beautiful the moment you drape it around your neck.

Through repeated prototyping and verification, we adjusted the width of the hem, the intensity of the colors, and the scale of the patterns down to the millimeter.
It is a piece that becomes complete the moment you wear it.

・With jackets, knits, or shirts
・On a bag
・As a top
There are countless ways to use them, expanding your styling possibilities.

Light, supple, and effortless silk jacquard

For the fabric, we use 100% silk jacquard from "Ogura Orimono," a weaving house in Ishikawa Prefecture with a 130-year history. They are a rare and precious manufacturer, specializing in wide-width silk jacquard weaving, which is scarce in Japan today.

・Lightweight
・Supple and easy to tie
・Cool on hot days, warm on cold days
Harnessing the natural qualities of silk, we have crafted a piece that can be worn throughout the seasons.

Samoan Collection

Items ⑦ through ⑩ are four special patterns created in collaboration with "Samoan Sugai," a wildly popular influencer living in Gunma Prefecture with over 340,000 total followers.
This project came to life after we found common ground in our shared desire to "bring the joy and charm of Meisen to as many people as possible."

⑨ Feather

A dynamic composition featuring Isesaki Meisen's characteristic feather motifs, layered with shades of red, blue, and yellow.
As a counterpart to the classical ⑧ Embassy, this design adds depth to your attire through movement and color.

Printed with Epson's inkjet technology

Archiving the patterns of silk textiles that are no longer in production, and reviving them for the modern age through the power of digital technology—this is a joint project between Ay and EPSON.

We have faithfully reproduced the playful colors, designs, and delicate kasuri (ikat) nuances of Isesaki Meisen onto silk material. High-precision inkjet technology allows for the beautiful expression of subtle gradients and the delicate waver of lines.

Monna Lisa by EPSON
The fabric for this collection is printed using EPSON's sustainable digital textile printer, "Monna Lisa."

・Reduces water consumption by up to 96%
・On-demand production that requires no printing plates
・Environmentally conscious process with reduced chemical usage

We are realizing manufacturing that is kind to both the environment and the makers.

Careful Japanese craftsmanship

The scarves are finished at a factory in Japan using a highly delicate sewing technique known as a 2mm rolled hem. A narrow, beautifully finished edge lends a sophisticated impression to the entire scarf.

・Size: Approx. 90cm x 90cm (varies slightly depending on the fabric bolt)
・Material: 100% Silk
・Country of Manufacture: Japan

Because we use rare fabric with limited production quantities, the textile patterns for general sales may vary depending on the production lot. We hope you enjoy the unique, one-of-a-kind nature of each encounter.
