Upcycling traditional craft "Meisen" kimonos

Meisen is a yarn-dyed plain textile produced in the northern Kanto region from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. The kimono ``Meisen'', which was worn by women all over the country as everyday wear, is currently in decline and production is difficult. In order to bring this culture into the present, we propose clothing made from upcycled vintage Meisen kimonos.

Comment from Representative Aya Murakami

Japanese culture and crafts have the idea of ``using good things for a long time,'' and kimonos are also a culture that has been passed down through generations. Although the kimono culture represents Japan, it is also an industry that is shrinking and declining, and the kimono Meisen, which my hometown boasted as the No. 1 producer, is no longer able to produce new ones.

From the perspective of protecting the local culture, ``I want to pass on the culture of my hometown to the present day,'' and the need to ``I can't wear a kimono easily, but I want to incorporate it into my daily life.'' , started making upcycled clothes.
The new best dress is a design that was developed in the early days of the brand's launch, and is one that we have a lot of fondness for. We received a lot of requests from everyone to resell it, and we decided to produce it.

We look forward to seeing you in store!
