【Custom-Made】Meisen Pattern Dress

We designed and produced a bespoke dress with a Meisen pattern. The design was brought to life based on a sketch by our client, Ms. Hiromi Motegi.

This piece was realized from her strong desire to "have a dress made with a Meisen pattern!" Thank you for your commission.

Digitizing the Meisen pattern to create original fabric

To make the most of our client's favorite colors, we digitized the charming Meisen kimono pattern. We then adjusted the colors and design to produce original fabric.

Highly stretchy and easy-care dress

To fulfill the wish for "a dress that is easy to wear and care for!", we developed original Meisen-patterned fabric with the following features:
☑︎ Adopted stretchy material
☑︎ Used polyester fabric that can be washed at home

After two rounds of prototyping and adjusting the colors and textile design, it was finally completed.
The result is a dress that beautifully flatters the body while remaining comfortable to wear.

Bespoke Process

1. Design Finalization

We determine the details.
• What about the neckline design?
• The sleeve length?
• The skirt hem design?
• The shoulder line?
We listen carefully to your wishes to finalize these aspects.

2. Fabric Creation (for original fabrics)

• Select the material to be printed on based on fabric samples

• Select color codes

• Digitize the Meisen pattern design

3. Sample & Pattern Making

Based on the design, we produce a sample for fitting and adjustment.
In parallel, we create original patterns, making it possible for mass production as well.

4. Pattern Matching

For patterns that repeat, we decide where to place each motif.
Example: Finely adjusting placement, such as "positioning a floral pattern on the left chest."

5. Sewing by Craftsmen

The dress is carefully sewn and finished by craftsmen at our affiliated domestic factories.
