What is Meisen?
Isesaki Meisen was worn by Japanese women in bright colors during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods as casual and fashionable clothing. It was a highly specialized industry and was produced by many highly skilled craftsmen. Currently, production is considered impossible due to the aging population and shrinking market. Ay was born to weave rare meisen and local culture into the modern era.
