Cotton Double Gauze Bandana with Kimono Pattern
Ay no NUNO Series | Made in Japan
This bandana is crafted from soft cotton double gauze, printed with vibrant Meisen-inspired kimono patterns.
Gentle on the skin and lightweight, it can be styled as a hair accessory, fashion accent, or used as a decorative interior item.
This piece belongs to the Ay no NUNO series — Ay’s original textile collection inspired by traditional Meisen kimono patterns. While not Meisen itself, the design reinterprets its distinctive colors and playful motifs through modern textile technology.
Using inkjet printing on natural cotton, the fabric faithfully expresses the original color tones of Meisen patterns while prioritizing comfort and functionality.

About Meisen
Isesaki Meisen is a colorful silk kimono fabric that dressed Japanese women in everyday and fashionable wear from the Meiji, Taisho, to Showa periods.
Its production relied on a highly specialized division of labor, involving skilled artisans across as many as 14 different processes.Today, due to aging artisans and a shrinking market, authentic Meisen production has become impossible.
Ay was born from the desire to carry this rare textile culture into the present — transforming its spirit into modern, sustainable design.
