Isesaki Meisen Art Panel "Sansui" | One-of-a-kind

Bringing the beauty of 100 years ago into modern life.

"Isesaki Meisen" was a silk fabric that took the world by storm in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, about 100 years ago.

We have carefully unpicked each Meisen kimono—once beloved by women of that era for their bold colors and free-spirited patterns—and crafted beautiful snippets of them into art panels.

Rather than tucking away these kimonos that have served their purpose, we’ve reimagined them so you can enjoy them once again in your daily life.

Even within a single kimono, the expression changes depending on the part that is cut.
Whether floral, geometric, scenic, or abstract—you can enjoy these surprisingly modern designs from a century ago as if you were choosing a painting.

One-of-a-kind art

Because they are made from vintage Isesaki Meisen, every piece is unique.

Even those made from the same kimono will differ in their pattern layout and color placement.

Perfect for an entryway, living room, bedroom, or workspace. You can hang them on the wall or simply lean them against shelves or furniture to add a touch of color to your space.

They make excellent gifts for loved ones, housewarmings, opening celebrations, or for anyone with a connection to Gunma.

A new choice: "Displaying culture."

Even in modern times, where opportunities to wear kimonos have decreased, their beauty can still live on in our homes.

Bringing designs born 100 years ago into the next 100 years.

Ay re-edits Isesaki Meisen for the modern lifestyle, passing it on to the next generation.
